About Borealis
Borealis is a Canadian gaming-tech buying guide. We help Canadian shoppers compare gaming headsets, mice, keyboards, monitors, and other gaming gear before they buy.
Borealis is an independent Canadian technology and gaming buying-guide website. We publish practical product research, comparisons, and educational content to help Canadian gamers understand products and make better purchasing decisions.
Our focus is gaming peripherals and accessories — headsets, mice, keyboards, and monitors — available to Canadian shoppers. Everything we publish is grounded in Canadian availability and priced in Canadian dollars where a Canadian price is available.
The goal is to make product research easier. Our guides bring together the details that matter before a purchase — specifications, pricing information, key features, pros and cons, and comparisons — so you can weigh a few realistic options instead of reading through dozens of product pages.
We are faceless by design. Borealis has no founder personality, no author identity, and no influencer behind it. We believe useful, trustworthy information should stand on its own — not on the credibility of a personal brand.
We are not affiliated with Best Buy, Amazon, or any retailer or manufacturer. When we reference products sold by retailers such as Best Buy Canada, it is because the product is relevant to Canadian shoppers — not because of any partnership.
Borealis does not claim to have personally tested products unless an article explicitly states that testing took place. Most guides are built from published specifications, manufacturer documentation, and Canadian retailer listings.
How we work
Research first
We identify the questions Canadian gamers actually ask, then build guides that answer them clearly and honestly.
No invented data
We do not fabricate specifications, prices, test results, or reviews. If we haven't verified something, we say so — or we don't publish yet.
Published one at a time
We avoid mass-produced content. Each guide is researched and written individually, and published only when it's genuinely useful.
Product information and pricing change. A headset that was $99 last month may be on sale this week, discontinued next month, or replaced by a newer model — and specifications, compatibility, and features can change too.
Treat our guides as a starting point for your own research, and verify the current retailer or manufacturer listing before you purchase. Our Editorial Policy explains how we research and update our content, and our Affiliate Disclosure explains how the site is funded.
Borealis is reader-supported. When you buy through certain links on our site, we may earn an affiliate commission from the retailer — at no additional cost to you. This is how we fund our research and keep the site free to read.
Affiliate relationships never determine our recommendations, and we do not currently use Best Buy affiliate links. We publish our funding model in full on our Affiliate Disclosure page, with a summary at the top of every page.
